The Recreation Department is gearing up for the 2018 Soccer session and they need your help.
Practice starts April 7th and will continue each Saturday during the month of April from 9 – 11 am. Games will be held during the month of May on Saturdays from 9 – 11 am.
Needs are:
- 2 coaches per team to help with 3-5 mixed sex teams of children ages 6-8 years old
- 1 referee for each team’s practice game in April
- Potential need for 5 referees to cover practice games. Total number depends on the number of teams.
- Referees should have understanding of the rules of soccer
- 2 referees for actual games in May. Only 1 game per Saturday in May
- Referees should have understanding of the rules of soccer
- 6 people to work the concession stand each week during May (a good group project)
- Food to be served is snacks, hot dogs, and drinks
- Recreation committee will purchase the food and drinks
- Greeters will greet and interact with people from the community. Need as many greeters as possible.
- Invite the people to Hickory Grove UMC
- Be prepared to share ministries offered at Hickory Grove UMC
- 1 scorekeeper for each game in May. Only 1 game per Saturday in May.
March 24th the Recreation Committee will be hosting a community outreach day to raise awareness of the event.
There will be a volunteers and greeters training held March 31, 2018 from 10 – 11 am for all involved.
