Saint Patrick's Celebration

Sunday, March 17 from 12:30 to 2:00 pm in the Trinity Room. The youth who wears the most green items will win a prize! We will have lunch, a lesson on St. Patrick, and lots of fun! Sub Sandwich Fundraiser   

On Sunday, April 22, the Youth will be selling sub sandwich meals in the FLC following the 9:15 worship time. Meals are $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 10 and under. Meals include a sandwich, chips, beverage, and dessert. Kids’ meals include a half sandwich. To order ahead of time, email Abbi at awilliams@hgumc.com. This fundraiser will benefit our Youth Summer Mission Trip to Hayesville. 


Spring Banquet                  

All proceeds benefit Youth Missions!  Saturday, May 5 from 6 PM-8 PM in the Family Life Center.  Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased from Abbi or from the church office.  Child-friendly meals available for children under age 10.  Menu: Italian Chicken, Rice Pilaf, Roasted Vegetables, Fresh Strawberry Garden Salad with Red Wine Vinaigrette, Roll, Beverage, and Dessert.  Entertainment provided by Youth and Friends.  Email Abbi at awilliams@hgumc.com with questions.


Confirmation Sunday   

Confirmands will be recognized with a special service in the African worship venue on Sunday, May 20th at 11:11 AM.  A reception will precede the service in the Trinity Room and is open for any who may wish to attend and offer a word of encouragement or congratulations to our 2018 Confirmands.


Graduation Sunday  

Graduation Sunday will be Sunday, June 2nd. We will be honoring all of our graduates from high school and college. If you are a student or a parent of a student graduating this Spring with a high school diploma or higher education please send:

· Student’s full name,

· parent/guardian names,

· pictures (at least one childhood and one graduation photo),

· details of what degree and institution student is graduating, as well as future plans.

· the graduates contact information/cell phone or email address

to Kim Long by Sunday May 19th.

All pictures should be digitally scanned and included in email with above information sent to kl9209@gmail.com. Only student information and pictures sent by May 19th will be included in our Graduate Recognition service on June 2nd.

There will be a reception to honor the graduates in the Parlors between the 9:15 am and 11:11 services on June 2nd.


Youth Mission Trip

Our youth and their leaders will be leaving for their mission trip on Sunday, June 24 and will return on Friday, June 29.

They will be staying at Hinton Rural Life Center, Hayesville, NC.


Movie Night

Friday, July 20, at 8:00 pm in the parking lot. 

We will be showing “CoCo”, Disney•Pixar's extraordinary adventure about a boy who dreams of becoming a great musician and embarks on a journey to uncover the mysteries behind his ancestor's stories and traditions. 

Refreshments will be served. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on.
