PURPOSE
Every man in The United Methodist Church through United Methodist Men is enabled to join every other man in a bond of Christian brotherhood. When a man accepts Jesus Christ and joins The United Methodist Church, he expresses his commitment to a new life. Our United Methodist Men unit helps a man live out his commitment through a covenant relationship with other men in the church.
PROJECTS
Our unit serves meals at the Charlotte Overflow Shelter and the Shinn Shelter four times this year. We prepare and serve Wednesday night family dinners at HGUMC. We provide support to the church preschool by maintaining the playgrounds and making needed repairs of classroom items. Other activities include Easter Sunrise breakfast, Mother’s Day brunch, singing at the early church service once a month, and singing at the Methodist Home. Our annual fund raiser is a Chicken ‘N Dumplin dinner held in November.
MEETINGS
Meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month at 7:00 pm. Meetings consist of dinner, devotional, singing and a program. For additional information, call Rodney Spencer at (704) 573-7701 or Bob Davis at (704) 573-0564.
